Shooting Marilyn Monroe

Hollywood is a fantastic place to live as a photographer. I often wander around Hollywood Boulevard on evenings and weekends, looking for good shots and locations. One Sunday afternoon, I’d spent an hour or so walking around and just wasn’t feeling it, so I started to head home. As I waited for the light at Hollywood and Wilcox, I found myself standing next to Marilyn Monroe (the lovely Szilvia Ms. Monroe). We exchanged a few friendly words, and I asked her if I could shoot a few portrait shots of her. We were just across the street the old Hollywood Pacific Theater, which has some excellent decorate metal panels along the side that make great backdrops. We did a quick shoot, and she was fantastic. She did some of the classic Marilyn poses, and really well. We exchanged contact information and will probably shoot again sometime.
